1. When should I get the medical certificate?
The DGT requires you to pass the psycho-technical exam before submitting your paperwork to take the theory test. It is an essential requirement, so make sure to get it done shortly before applying for your exam.
2. What documents do I need to bring?
You will only need to bring your DNI, NIE, or Passport to identify yourself. Ensure your document is not expired. You do not need to bring photos, as the medical center will take a digital photograph of you and attach it directly to your DGT file. If you use glasses, contact lenses, or hearing aids, you must bring them to your appointment.
3. What tests will I undergo?
The examination checks your fitness to drive on public roads. Common tests include:
- A general health and habits questionnaire.
- Hearing ability assessment.
- Visual and ophthalmological capacity examination.
- A psychomotor review, including coordination, reaction time, and peripheral perception tests.
4. How much does it cost?
The price of the medical certificate can vary depending on the center and the province, but it generally ranges between 25€ and 55€. We recommend calling a few centers near you to compare prices before booking an appointment.
